You cannot tell a story without names. Omitting names from a story, be they of places or characters, is like erasing all the shading from a drawing. It’s awfully flat and lifeless. Omitting names from a story could be seen as an attempt to express universality; but even fables, parables and fairytales—the most universal of stories—contain names.
